Dashboard 3.0
While working for Aberdeen Publishing, I built this web application for the sales force for each of the newspaper publications in our organization.
This app is designed to be a communication tool between the sales rep and the administration personnel that entered their sales orders into the billing system. This helped streamline the process and ensured data was correct prior to going into the billing system.
I built this software utilizing the Larvel 8 framework and bootstrap.

News Websites
Upon commencing my tenure at Aberdeen, the initial responsibility involved the management of their news websites. The comprehensive refurbishment of all 14 sites, including a meticulous rebuilding process, resulted in the implementation of a clean and responsive design. Additionally, the development of a responsive ad network using Google Ad Manager was undertaken. This was done to ensure compliance with the latest IAB standards in web advertising. Furthermore, the establishment and maintenance of three dedicated Linux webservers was established in Vancouver and successfully executed.

Aberdeen Network
While at Aberdeen, we had approximately 14 offices across BC and Alberta. There was no wide area network established yet for the company and each location had substandard equipment and security.
A Barracuda firewall system was deployed and put all the remote locations across both provinces on the same network. Established back up procedures and maintained the network and firewalls for each location.

Nextcloud
Setup a “cloud” file system for Aberdeen’s newspaper publications. Each location had remote access to the Nextcloud server to access files necessary for production.
The system would sync files in real time keeping up to minute back up of all files. The system was setup with our own Linux server housed in a data center in Kelowna.
The Nextcloud system served as a way to give easy access to files to remote personnel and provided real-time off site backup for all publications.

KTW Digital
Aberdeen’s largest news organization, KamloopsThisWeek, launched a digital division called KTW Digital. As the senior project manager for all websites we built and maintained well over 100+ websites for the local community of Kamloops and surrounding area.
We built complex POS shopping cart integrations to the very simple landing page. I managed a design and development team and brought technical expertise where needed.
Some projects required more advanced coding which I was mostly responsible for.
